Skip it if your swap has a "useful gifts only" rule.
Look for: Batteries included, and a gift bag big enough to hide the shape.
Skip it if the winner doesn’t play games.
Look for: The original deck for a first copy. Party packs are for big groups.
Skip it if they already have a drawer full of ladles.
Look for: It stands up in the pot. It is safe in the dishwasher.
Skip it if your swap has a higher budget: add a snack to make it bigger.
Look for: A set of a few clips, so it feels like a real gift.
Skip it if they live somewhere warm all winter.
Look for: USB-C charging, a few heat levels and an auto shut-off.
Skip it if you need to feed a family fast: it makes one small waffle at a time.
Look for: A color they’ll like and the newer models with removable plates if you hate scrubbing.
Skip it if you’d rather not recharge lights every few weeks.
Look for: USB-C charging, magnetic mounts and a warm-white option.
Skip it if you’re happy with a standard nested set.
Look for: Narrow ends that fit inside spice jars, strong magnets and stainless steel.

The yodelling pickle always gets a laugh. Exploding Kittens is funny and fun to play.
